Hi Friends!
As we move forward towards Spring Break, we have another week of optional content based activities that I encourage you to participate in! I miss you all very much and hope you are all doing well!


IMPORTANT DATES:
  • Friday, 04/10/20 - Deadline for late credit submissions and missed test completion. Contact teacher directly about all late submissions.
  • Monday, 04/20/20 - Required new content begins for course credit.

  • Monday, 04/06 - Integrated Research Project (google folder)
    • Mini-lessons (google slides #86-102) - 
      • reporting verbs & transitions; using source evals for lead-ins & analysis; paraphrasing Bassett
    • Independent practice OBJECTIVES: effectively use reporting verbs & transitions, & source evals for lead-ins & analysis
      • Complete slide #88 hyperlinked resource review & practice activities. 
      • Use slides 89-94 to review & reflect on value of source eval lead-ins & analysis, reporting verbs & transitional phrases.
      • Review slides #95-102 for rough draft tips & tricks.
      • Practice all mini-lesson learnings as you develop your essay rough draft #1, including thesis (body paragraphs only) for Thursday submission.
  • Tuesday, 04/07 - Learning Extensions
    • Research and fill in the following charts to help with our upcoming unit.  Limit your information to World War II; many figures were influential before &/or after the war, but limit the information in the chart to only the war - Who’s Who in WWII (Allies) and (Axis)
    • Reread LA - Night Ch. 1 by 04/20/20
  • Wednesday, 04/08 - Writing
    • Making History - Journal Writing
      • Optional Prompt: How do we use language to achieve our purposes? How does language evolve? Effects? Consider personal usage, as well as that of governmental, etc. Examples: “social distancing” or how we name the pandemic virus
  • Thursday, 04/09 - Integrated Research Project
    • (DUE by noon) - Essay Rough Draft - www.turnitin.com
      • Teacher feedback by Tuesday, April 21st.
  • Friday, 04/10 - Integrated Research Project
    • Peer edit 1 rough draft on www.turnitin.com
